Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation
Special Health Conditions- for all genders
At our unique practice, we specialize in treating vulvar pain syndromes, bladder conditions, functional constipation, coccyx pain, and other pelvic floor related disorders. For men, we also address post-prostatectomy voiding difficulties. We treat children’s bowel and bladder challenges with biofeedback, behavior modification, and non-intrusive manual therapy techniques.
Biofeedback for Pelvic Floor Dysfunction– Biofeedback is a non-invasive form of treatment. The therapist attaches sensors or electrodes to the body and these sensors measure muscle tension and provide a variety of readings–feedback–which is displayed on the equipment for the patient to see. With this visual information, patients can learn to make changes to reduce muscle tension or to improve muscle activation. With practice, the new responses and behaviors can help to bring relief and improvement to a variety of disorders.
